DETAILS:  Autodesk BIM 360 Design has made tremendous improvements over the past couple of years.  While some companies have embraced these new BIM workflows many still have numerous questions.  We will be taking an in depth look at both BIM 360 Document Management and BIM 360 Design Collaboration.  We will spend time discussing the numerous features available in these products as well as how they interact with Autodesk Revit.   Attendees should walk away with a good knowledge base about these products and ideas on how to implement them into their current projects.  If time permits we will also look at other products in the BIM 360 suite including Project Management, Field Management and Model Coordination.

Primary Responsibilities

HDR is currently seeking to hire a Mechanical BIM Specialist for our East Region Design Center in Charlotte, NC. This person will be responsible for the BIM production of facilities related mechanical systems (HVAC and plumbing) across a variety of markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, and Federal. This person will coordinate and work closely with a lead mechanical engineer and a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents. This individual will be responsible for the development of mechanical systems models, detailing, and plan creation in BIM. This individual should be self-motivated, with initiative to deliver high quality mechanical construction documents.

 

Required Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field or experience required

• 1 to 3+ years experience in support of mechanical systems production with associates degree. 

• 6+ years experience in support of mechanical production required with no degree. 

• Exceptional Revit skills are required

• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm

• Strong preference given to local candidates

Civil Technical Specialist

The Autodesk Civil Application Engineer will be part of the team responsible for training/consulting/support for Autodesk’s Civil & Infrastructure software solutions.  The Application Engineer will consistently demonstrate his/her ability to deal with clients at a business-to-business level, identifying and providing solutions that fulfill the business/technical needs of customers, as well as supporting the sales team in a pre-sales capacity demonstrating and presenting the Autodesk solutions.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training

  • Conducting open enrollment and customized training (fundamentals to advanced level)
  • Develop web-based (quick starts and just-in time) training

Technical Support

  • Providing telephone, online, virtual, and on-site technical support
  • Maintain detailed notes of all client communications within our CRM database

Pre/Post-Sales

  • Provides technical product assistance to both inside and outside sales representatives in the development and closing of sales opportunities.
  • Pre-sales:  Qualifying Process
  • Technical audits, Needs assessment, Training assessment, Pre-Sales Presentations
  • Technical Alignment:  Development Process to gain a competitive advantage, To set technical alignment and expectations, To remove technical obstacles
  • Post-sales:  Retention & Referral Process as in:
    • Training, technical support, and consulting services
    • Customer acquisition, satisfaction, and retention
  • Present in front of C-level executives and power users regarding Autodesk technologies at user groups, tradeshows, executive briefings, and pre-sale activities

Other

  • Write blog and other social media mediums regarding Autodesk and design technology
  • Learn new Autodesk and third-party design technology programs (example:  MAP 3D, Navisworks, InfraWorks, etc.)

Perform other duties as necessary or required

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The ideal candidate should have…

  • 3+ year’s experience in Civil Engineering design industry.
  • BS in Engineering a plus
  • AutoCAD & Civil 3D experience preferred.
  • Experience in other applications such as Microstation, ESRI, etc. would be a plus.
  • Experience instructing users on software and/or supporting software applications in an organization preferred.
  • Surveying experience would be a plus.
  • The candidate should also have experience with Microsoft office software.

  • Experience communicating with clients both written and verbally

Revit Freelance

A company has contacted us with openings for several people who can freelance or perform contract Revit work.  They’re looking for both architectural & mechanical drafters and the work can be done from home during the day, at night or on weekends.

This position must stay in close contact and manage working relationships with design teams, project managers, quality control, and other related business partners to maintain project schedule and design accuracy. Be able to manage the changing variables in a project. You must be able to work with residential building plans and convert it into Revit drawings. Coordinating with project management and the builder to ensure that accurate, details communications are maintained.
